The first Global Women’s Leadership Conference in Macedonia “I am a Woman” was held on July 20 and 21, 2022 in MKC-Kino Frosina, Skopje, organized by 3 young women, enthusiasts for advancing the rights and position of women in Macedonia: Ana Dukoska, founder of the initiative “Macedonians in the world”, Ilina Pejoska Zaturoski, UI/UX designer and owner of a small business BEBE BOX DOOEL and Katerina Klimovska, president of ISLAA-alumni association of the Ivanov school for young leaders.
13 exceptionally accomplished Macedonian women from the many in Macedonia and outside of it, at 4 panel discussions, discussed the challenges and problems that a Macedonian woman faces every day in Macedonia and outside of it, transferred their knowledge, experience and offered creative solutions for greater integration and emancipation of every woman in Macedonia.
The conference was opened with video biographies of Macedonian women throughout history who contributed to a better place for women in society in Macedonia, and was closed with an exhibition of handmade products by Macedonian artisans: Macedonian Rubin and Ohridski Biseri Risteski on July 20th and an exhibition of exclusive models with Macedonian motifs made by designer Silvia Alshar on July 21st.
