Macedonian women throughout the history of Macedonia
Women are always an extremely important and powerful driving force in societies, especially in the most difficult and hopeless moments. Women with their individual and collective functioning in different spheres, and all in the interest of better social, cultural and civilizational development, contribute to the cultural, economic and political emancipation not only of women, but also of the whole society. Leadership abilities combined with empathy, determination, persistence, motivation and fearlessness characterize women in order to create positive social development with a decisive and timely reaction. Women throughout history have been leaders and creators of the future, from antiquity through Cleopatra VII and Lydia of Macedonia, Zoya and Theodora in the Middle Ages, then dukes and teachers in the uprisings to Mother Teresa, all of them showed exceptional perseverance in the fight for a better future.
